Chinese yam

Has anyone dealt with an invasive vine called Chinese yam? I did a small clear cut , leaving only small walnut. This vine has climbed every one and has bent emerging saplings horizontal.
Any suggestions on what to do? Bob

Right after WWII when we lived with my Grandma, she and other neighbors around town had a porch trellis with a vine that looks like this one? We called them "potato vines" for the small aerial tubers that resemble a tiny potato.  
Is this the same plant? I've never seen one in the woods though?

That's a new one to me. It sounds like chemical control is the only viable option. Here's more information:

Given the very brief section on control I'm guessing it isn't well established in MO and/or no one really knows how to control it. I think I would start with a glyphosate spray in the spring and see what happens. 

Keep us updated. I have no doubt someone will come to the FF in the future wanting to know how to control it.
