Hi everybody!

I usualy use a dremel type tool for sharpening my chains, with cylindrical stones. But the stones don't last much.

Has anybody tried something like this?

Tried them, but nothing beats the file. Just seems there are no good short cuts.

There was a jig posted a short while ago that clamped on the bar, and a hand turned "file" accurately positioned to look like it would do a very good job.  On the expensive side of $100 tho. http://www.timberlinesharpener.com/

I see Bailey's (sponsor) now has the Pferd / Husqvarna Swedish filing guide which is the one I like to use. Has two rollers that hold the file at a consistent height on each tooth, and a guide to keep the rakers filed at the right height for softwood or hardwood. Look for part # HVA 50569 81 91 for a kit that works on 3/8 pitch chain.
