Reddog and I thought the rest of the Forestry Forum membership might like to share a little peace of our adventure we had this past summer. up for auction is this platter made from the hard Maple that reddog ALMOST ran into on his vacation up in da UP.

I just got the word from Bob that it is 11"  by 2"  :)

Jeff, just to confirm, he's talking 11" diameter and 2" thick, right?

Well, I suppose it could be 11" deep and 2" in diameter, but if that's the case, he sent me the wrong pictures. :D

*sigh* Sorry.  :-[  I've never turned anything before and am not in the habit of knowing the dimensions of plates and bowls.  Went and measured one of our plates and it's a 10" dinner plate.  So this platter is pretty good size.  :)

Thanks Steve,  I have been having about 85 percent success using your mineral oil and wax finish, lots more better then in the past ;)  this one is flawless 8)
