So, if someone's looking to sell 8000bf of Michigan grown cherry and cutting DBH as a general rule average on small ends - 17.  What sort of avenues are available?

Jeff

Whatcha mean?

I mean that Michigan is not really known for large stands of Black Cherry timber, but it is well known for being one of the largest Cherry fruit growers in the country. You might find old orchards with big diameter trunks but might not cut a log over 4 feet long.

Tell us a bit more about why you ask on the Cherry.

Ah.  Makes sense.

A fella sent me an email asking about and I have zero experience of anything outside the wood basket.

I have his contact info, but I only know what he told me.
