How big a bar can you put on a husky 288 to use with a  chain saw mill.

I'm planning on running a 30" bar with my 288 on my Alaskan mill.  I can physically fit a 42" bar on 36" mill if I stretch it to it's limits, but doubt I'll have much need to run such a long bar.  Milling puts a lot more strain on the saw due to long WOT runs so it's best to either run a bit less bar, or a bigger powerhead when doing alot of milling.

General rule of thumb.
Engine displacement / 3
So lets say 90cc divided by 3 = 30"
