I was trying to edit my profile to add my new toy piece of equipment. It keeps giving me an error that I'm embedding HTML tags. It finally lost its mind and had me start over.

So then I just tried to save my original profile (signature) and it still gave me the embedded HTML error.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you are using html tags.  ffcheesy

Anywhere a pic is allowed in the new software you must use bbc tags.  Use the same type of tags that are used in a post box.

But, but, but, I can't even save my current active profile without throwing the error. I don't have any pictures or links that I can see.🫤

Sometimes the html is not visible.  If you paste the text, use right click "paste as plain text".  Highlight blank areas by click and drag and just press the space key to replace it all.

Weird. Field by field I cut and did "Save Profile".

When I eliminated the Equipment field, it saved without error. Apparently you cannot use " for an abbreviation for inch in that particular field. Probably since the software update, what, two years ago? I can use " in the other fields.

Problem solved, or rather, feature discovered.😉

Ok so I tried to send in my paperwork to register the truck in England, but now the stamp is stuck to my screen and covering some of the words. Not sure where I went wrong.   ffcheesy

This issue should be fixed in the next update. https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF/issues/7660

Great. Looks like it was fixed in May of '23. There hasn't been an update performed since then?

Hopefully they do a better job than that Microsoft update that came out the other day.
