I notice the other day that a wood pecker was going to town on a 2x6x16' board.  He took several worm borers out of the wood.  Few of them ended up falling through the bottom and onto the flooring/deck.  I treated that wood with seal-once so I must have missed where they entered.  To my surprise he went to another 2x6 board and started boring and pulling "borers out of it."  I'm still putting the roof on and yesterday the same wood pecker moved up stairs and man.. the echo was loud.  My wife asked me what in the heck that is and I told her it's the house inspector.  

Today he seems to have no interest in the house and is onto a scotch pine.  Few years ago I put up over 20 wood pecker houses on our property and 13 of them are occupied with wood peckers.  Crazy how they can hear from that distance.
