I know I promised pictures a while ago and you probably are wondering if I really did get a sawmill.  Here's the proof!

Monster soft maple

Nice mill!

Looks like you've been busy  :)

Take care of that Hard and Soft Maple...This time of year that stuff will really stain on ya!  ;)

Thanks Gadget,

The mill is working great.  I finally have a bit of time since a nice Easter snow storm blew in this weekend.  My motivation for getting outside to cut is pretty much gone ;D ;D

We got the same storm here.I guess we got a foot and a half.Stopped at noon and by the time I got home that night the sun had it melted down half that much.Looked like the monster maple grew in a swarp.Looks like moss is growing on it.But it made nice lumber.

It was growing along my brother's lane.  There are about 20 more just like it still standing.  They are slowly dying so over the next few years we will likely be cutting them down too and replacing them with young trees.  The lumber was really nice.  Lots of character ;D  You won't find lumber like that at the big box stores!  He is planning to make kitchen cupboards out of them someday...
