Southern Magnolia suggestions on milling

Acquired a Southern Magnolia tree from a local tree service , I have never milled it before looking for guidance on milling .

I'd make stickers or cribbing or something like that. It turns an ugly gray when exposed. I suppose it could be ok, but that's up to you. Always worth experimenting.

Heck yeah, why not?  That's what I'd do.  Then you'll know what's inside a magnolia. It'll have a large pith, so get rid of that.  Whether you like it or not, it can be used for something. Magnolia does attract metal though, so BOLO for that.

I'm going to run metal detector over it before I mill it .
