Some idiotic nursery sent infected trees from Michigan to Maryland.  That is were it probably came from.

EAB was in MD from the very beginning.  The nursery stock got moved prior to knowing the pest was in MI.  That being said, they thought they had gotten all of it back then.  Unfortunately they did not.
