Finally some progress on the kiln.

We lagged in the uprights and got the floor down with 2 layers of tar paper under the syp 1x's.



 

I said something about the floor boards down diagonally making the frame stiffer, Jack said like Viagra and I said no Diagra, he laughted..

Today after church we cut and attached the sides and front foam panels. It went pretty fast, shot a little foam in some of the open spaces. Looks like we have enough foam panels for the doors and will frame them up in pine and get them hung. Then we are shopping for some fans and top panels.

That kiln is looking really good. I like the diagonal flooring to help prevent racking. With all that foam, that thing will be like a Yetti cooler. It will hold ice for about two weeks!(Or heat, if that is what you want!) What will you use to cover the outside with? Keep up the good work, and the pictures also. Be safe.    Andy

That foam is sheet aluminum backed on both sides, just needs a scrubbing and paint.
