I'm proud of me too. I gained 7 pounds while we were in Belize but have lost that and a few more this week.  8)

The more you can lose through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes, the better you will do, no matter whether you have surgery or not.  So remember, this is for the long haul.  Keep on doing your best.  Remember that it is ok to splurge once in a while also.  Belize sounds like a good time to splurge to me.  =)  Now you are getting back on track, and keep working the weight down.  That's all you can do, slow and steady is the way to be.

Great job.

Can't have grits. Too many carbs. Determination I have. Encouragement from my forum brothers and sisters makes that much better.

Well,
After I got back to work and weighed on the scale I started with I found I hadn't lost as much as I thought. I've had some ups and downs and ups but have finally started back down and have now truly broken the 40 pound mark. Onward through the fog I go. Next short term goal is to get below 300 lb and that's only 3 pounds away and then to reach 50 pounds lost. Small goals keeps it achievable. I have an abdominal hernia surgery next month and I'm sure the weight loss will help with that. Pretty sure the weight was a big contributing factor to begin with.

Well, no more palpitations,  but something doesn't exactly feel right.   Waiting for results from the monitoring they have had me on.  I can physically work just fine, (no symptoms), but I occasionally get some "flushing" feelings while resting and at night, (which I have never experienced before).  With my own heightened monitoring, it seems that these "episodes", coincide with my heart rate falling in the 50 bpm range.  So first it was too fast, and now, it may be too slow.  Blood pressure is good, O2 level is good, and while I can't say I get "short of breath", when I get the flushing going on, I end up feeling like I need to concentrate on my breathing.  So waiting to see what the medical minds think is up.

WooHoo!!!!!!!!! Made it down to 300 lbs. First time in many years I've seen that.  8)
