Title: Solar Kiln Loading Doors design and hardware
Post by: Peakebrook on February 23, 2007, 09:54:01 AM
The solar panels are on and the siding is done.  Now it is time to finally make the loading doors.  The dimensions of the openng is 17 feet x 8 feet.  My design call for two swinging doors.

Any recommendations on hardware and weather stripping to keep this simple, yet as air tight as possible.  Name of suppliers would be great.

Thanks

J.Dean

I bought a door kit from Nyle for ours. It had the aluminum angle, a heavy duty weatherstrip, and the floor sweep for the bottom, and the stainless steel screws to go with it. We had enough left to seal the door from the kiln to the control room too.  Our doors are 10' high by 11' wide(each)
