Is there any need to spray Timbor or anything on cypress? I've started spraying everything and I'm about to cut some cypress for the first time but figured there really wasn't a need to spray it, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

New growth, also called second growth, cypress has less decay resistance than old growth.  So, the a single application of a self-applied chemical can help protect the surface until the chemical is mostly washed off with exposure to rain or liquid water.

For a product where decay resistance is essential for safety reasons (post or frame for deck, for example), or if a failure can result in monetary loss (such as a fence holding expensive cattle near a highway), then you should consider ground contact pressure treatment, which is the best we have.  Some species, if all heartwood, provide good resistance to decay and insects, like Osage orange and black locust.
