I'm picking these logs up on Friday. I was told they are oak. I believe they are some variety of red oak. Can anybody say what variety.

Check the inner bark. If it is bright orange, it is black oak. It looks like that it might be black oak. If you can get twig with a bud, the buds should be a little fuzzy.

Seem like the red oak I have here, there is some red in it.
