Curious, if anyone knows the hardwood prices in central Va.  I live in Essex county, and need to find approx. price per board foot of hardwood in this area.  Everyone I know is cutting pine, not too much hardwood available.  When it is, the a couple local mills scoop it up, and it's tough to find what it might be worth, or what it is actually bringing.  Any ideas?

That's totally dependent on species and grade.  Typical woods run mixed species tracts......$250 /MBF on the stump.  I am aware of one that sold a couple of weeks ago in Mecklenburg County at $450/MBF on the stump.  An Amish buyer bought one in Prince Edward County about a month ago at $750/MBF on the stump.
