I'm surprised you haven't had a visit from the fashion police over that :o

It's still legal in Florida and Arizona.

In order to be legal you need to be wearing Birkenstocks and white not black socks.

Plenty of Canadians do it when they are down here. Another freedom we offer to go with sunshine. 8) 8)

I am not real sure about the legality issues but I digress... I think it was Lewis Grizzard, semi-famous Ga Bulldogs fan and author, who often wrote about the trials and tribulations of Miss Kathy Sue Loudermilk, who said the  Civil War (More often known as the War for Southern Independence or the War of Northern Aggression where I was raised) was started by Yankees coming down south and walking around Panama City Fla wearing Sandals, black knee high socks, plaid Bermuda shorts and Panama hats.

I think Lewis Grizzard also asked the sage question "How are the Atlanta Braves and Michael Jackson alike?" Answer: They both wear one glove for no apparent reason.

BTW Jeff - I am still looking for a 2024 Maga hat. :D

Magicman's set up looks like my dog walking set up when it isn't to far below zero. but I hadn't thought of wool socks. I will have to remember that if it gets cold.

There comes a time in one's life when they can wear whatever the heck they want too? I am at that stage FWIW.
Back to beans, one of our son's went vegan over a year ago and he east enough black beans to float a large boat. Spinach, same thing.
He made his "Momma call" the other day while commuting and asked her if we "had any elderberries" as he'd read how they had some good stuff in them. I told her to tell hime we had them and also lots of dandy lions too. He has in mind to make a tincture of them not jelly as I had pictured from my youth. They do have a bit of a weird flavor aftertaste like in jellies and wine.
Beans made into Baked beans- I like the small navy ones and given that we live in an area where much sorghum is produced we use that for flavor, not the yankee darker version or the deep south cane sugar off shoot. Ours all comes from old time sorghum and most boil in pans, similar to maple sap but one neighbor, (he's the major seed source for many producers too) has a steam boiler set-up and has it down to a science. My wife prefers his product, hands down! You can google "Townsend's Sorghum", he's in Montgomery Co, KY, to read about him.
He's a real farmer also growing truck veggies and fruits and a mule guy too.
