Dromgoole House makes the Register

I just got a newsletter from the VA Dept of Historic Resources. I think I recognized one of the new listed houses;

Yes, I've been pushing them for years to get it into the National Register.  The Board Members of the Foundation that owns it really don't know anything much about preservation, but are learning.  

Preservation Virginia said they had a grant approved for the foundation work, but the house would have to be in the Registry first.  A few of the ladies finally got to work, did a Great job, and had it approved.

Up until now, we've mostly just been barely staying ahead of it falling down.

More history based there is coming out all the time.  The latest looks like Edward Dromgoole had his own Underground Railroad thing going on there.  Francis Asbury spent more time there than anywhere else.
