With all the increase in the cost of everything, my wife and I are contemplating doing things a little different on a future trip. We usually kind of saunter through the lower penninsula, usually taking 2 or even 3 days to make it to Brimley State Park, in Michigans UP, about a half hour west of Soo Michigan. We like Brimley because it is normally pretty quiet, there is a really great campstore just outside the entrance, it is relaxing to get a breeze off the water ( many campsites right on the lake ) and go to sleep hearing lake superior waves lapping on the beach. We enjoy the lighthouses, watching the big lake boats, and many other down to earth local activities. Just like a lot of folks in these times, we are trying to economize a little, and maybe try to find a place not so far away, but offering the things we really enjoy. An internet search is making us consider taking a look at Port Crescent. It sounds a lot like the setting at Brimley, but lots closer to home. Anybody been there? Any good experiences or bad? Local attractions or points of interest? Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve
