demo today

Did a demo for a fellow today, spent maybe three hours showing him and his son how to use and maintain the fifteen, and talking about the pros and cons of the fifteen and the twenty eight...another sawdust addict coming up...I did warn him...really I did!

yeah, I think so..there were some pretty big grins going there for awhile. he was wanting me to take the lumber from the log..I just sort of pointed to the stack of red oak I have out back.."got plenty," Thinking to myself that I would just have to stack it, "besides, you really have to make something from your first log..so we settled on cutting him some two by two stock for an end grain butcher block.and a couple odd tomato stakes..getting that time of year. It tickled me, watching him realize all the stuff you can do with a mill.

thought of that, sadly, no way to pay for the rest of the hyd mill just now. sawing is good, eating is better.
fortunate thing is, I managed to get the trailer under the mill, I had just enough money coming to buy a used hyd mill, and we had a disaster with our banking situation ( I >hate< banks.) and had to pay out my kitty or lose a house..I know, priorities..
but, at least I have a mobile mill now..getting the mill to the log is loads easier than getting the log to the mill. and if I can arrange it, I will probably keep the fifteen at least for awhile after I get the hyd...it is a simple machine, I am inordinately fond of simple machines..logan lathes, hi lift jacks..hammers...the good things in life.

You had him fill out a Owner Demonstration Card, right? You know, the one that when he turns it in to Wood-Mizer, you'll get a 2% credit commission of the sale price?

I did a demo on my LT28 for a gentleman that lives about 60 miles from me. He ended up buying a LT15 and then less than two weeks later I had phone call from him with more questions on the 28. He traded his brand new 15 on a 28. Time you spend doing a demo is worth it.

I did not have any demo cards, but he did get ahold of Marty..theoretically I should be good.

I don't mind doing them anyway..blabbing about sawmills? twist my arm.
gotta drop a pine for a lady up the road saturday...gonna drop it and saw it right out front..right on the high way...in plain view of four of the big farmer's houses...heh..might make enough to buy some new blades...lol

I wish I had one. I know where there is one at, but the lady is sort of sentimental about it..I will save up a bit of change one day annd go make her an offer...

My lathe and mill, are unfortunately chinese. but they serve their purpose ok.
