We were visiting friends in Tucson, AZ yesterday. Sitting in the kitchen and what should I spy?

The First 72 years of childhood is always the hardest.
My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

I'm with MM, wondered as well.
First thing caught my eye was the handles were down.
Had the experience once of reaching for a heavy (sharp) knife in a magnetic holder with knife handles down. Bumped the knife just enough to knock it off he magnet and have the blade drop through my hand and slice open the palm. Nasty cut.
From then on, knife handles were up, blades down.

But these handles appear to be missing, like maybe they were plastic and broke ??
