I noticed the diet did not mention giving up grits.  I love the family church photo.  Keep us posted on your next mill.

Well, actually I did give up grits too. I'm including corn in grains, which I am avoiding. Maybe my grain cravings are turning me back to wood grain. . . .  ???

Ok guys,

So I met today with the sawmill owner. Actually I know two sawmill owners in these parts. . . .

But this fellow, I met with. We have some good mutual friends. He has a nearly new hydraulic Woodmizer and only uses it occasionally. So-- we had a good talk, and we plan on meeting again soon when we are both free on a Saturday to mill a few logs. Assuming we still like each other enough to proceed after that--we'll come up with some sort of arrangement, I guess-- probably where I can do my own part time work with his machine. That would bring me some much needed income. We'll look at other possibilities as we go along. Sawdust could occur!  :o

Ummm two things about that.

1. Even though Moxie is bottled in Georgia, it is extremely hard to find down here, for some unknown cotton-picking reason.

2. Unfortunately, I am off all sugary drinks, and that includes Moxie.

Now listen-- I hope to lose a good bit of weight and it may take me a year or more to get where I want to be. After that, I hope to be able to sneak a few snacks back into my life and just monitor the old abdomen for additional growth rings which might need to be run through the edger from time to time.

Ok, an update:

Things are looking up-- I may be able to get one of my old forestry-related jobs back. This is a big fat maybe due to my health, but the fellow I used to work for and I talked about it tonight and we are both agreeable to it-- it just means deciding for sure, and working out details. Again, praying ones, please pray for wisdom and details to come together-- not to mention, if this would be a mistake, for it not to happen.

 ;)

Ok, an update.
In the last few days I've been able to connect with the two guys I've been looking at doing work with/for. One of them looks like maybe a 30-40% chance something will work out  :-\ but the other one is looking more like 90%.  ;) So keep praying-- or thinking good thoughts if you're not the praying type. This could be a very good thing for me and my family-- we hope so, anyway!

Ok, as an update:

As of today, I gave 2 week notice at my security officer job, since I have been hired back working for the tree company I worked for previously, before all this stuff. I will have a significant pay advantage, much better flexibility, and will be back to chainsaw and bulldozers again.

As for sawmilling, we'll see about that. I will have access to a lot of great logs, so I want to be able to sawmill again.
