I did some sawen today too. We had a heatwave today with no wind. It warmed up to 18° f today.
No sawen tomorrow though supposed to get 8" of snow followed by ¼" of ice.

No milling today and it was warm enough! Today ran the logging roads with the Kubota to break them open before tomorrow’s storm of 8” to 14” of snow. Cutting & skidding pine and hemlock logs next week to mill for a cabin 18’x24’, board n batten for a 24’x46’ house and a 8’x12’ “hut”.

Got above zero in the afternoon, and got some sawing done. Had to use the blowtorch to thaw and scrape sawdust.

What on earth are you using for bands?  Those look like moulder shavings to me, not sawdust!!

Sawdust will bunch up like that when your lube mixes with really cold temperatures!   ;)

The sawdust freezes hard to the board, and sticks like a thick coat of paint. If you look at the board in the pic. under the torch you see what its like. Heating it with the torch it wrinkles up, and scrapes off easily in big flakes.
Under bark there's boards and beams, somewhere in between.
Cuttin' while its green, through a steady sawdust stream.

I sorta had the notion older chaps wouldn't be so distracted by a itty bit of food hints. But once again we've made it from sawdust to food! Sorta like my teenage help here. Mom barely gets out the door to holler mealtime and I can't find anyone for the dust trail there all leaving.

Pringles need a can a pepsi with em.

More like paper thin particle board. As soon as the temp goes up a few degrees, it disintegrates when you try to pick it up.
