I'm going to use some Timberlinx A475s for some critical joints.

They call for 7/8" all thread.

What type of all thread (galvanized, painted, cold rolled, etc) and where do you guys source them from in New England or mail order?

Thank you,

Ive had good luck with Ebay.
Needed some big metric All-thread rods and they had the best price.

My local industrial supply house stocks it in diameters up to 2".  They have several different grades.

You won't go wrong with McMaster's quality either.
Peterson 10" WPF with 65' of track
Smith - Gallagher dedicated slabber
Tom's 3638D Baker band mill
and a mix of log handling heavy equipment.

Thanks all. I'll check my local metal shop since their local which I try to support and then try Mcmaster.

I bought bolts from a company with a name like Bolt.com. Can't remember the exact name right now but they had what I needed at the best price.

I was on the other computer and happened across a file "tx_drawings" from them. One detail shows the A475 and specifies 7/8" dia A36 rod and 9 thread.

I've found big Dies and Taps used on ebay pretty cheap that have all been fine for more use.  For the large ones, I use a socket and 1/2" breaker bar.  The breaker bar lets you go back and forth when you want to.  It's not hard at all to tap or thread up to 1" (the largest I've gone so far) with enough leverage.

For the big taps, not that it applies here, you need 8 point sockets.

I expect A36 rod will be a lot cheaper than all-thread.

Thanks Tom. I'll look into that avenue. I never even thought of making my own.

Try Lightning Bolt and Supply, Inc, they are in Baton Rouge. They carry just about any grade you could want with multiple coating options and ship anywhere in the US. Much better prices than McMaster or Fastenal.
