On my member map I do not have any trees. The members are not listed on the right.
Also is there still a way to see your old posts? ie. the last 50 posts.
I also have trouble trying to search for an old subject with the search feature. What am I doing wrong?
In my member profile the information I put in about my history is not there anymore.

Loren...
Dont worry .. it's not you ;)
Some of the Bio info got lost in an upgrade / change / improvement thing a while back, just re-enter it, it probably needed updating / embellishing anyway.
The searching is still problematic. The forum has outgrown it's built in search function, the number of posts on the system has just gotten so big the server curled up and died when some searches were attempted. The current 'Freefind' search is run by a 3rd party party server, it works but doesn't index the complete forum, so older stuff is hard to find.
No easy fix sorry :(
Ian
The members map problem would be you. There is nothing wrong with that, You probably just needed to hit the refresh button, or you needed to restart your computer, or something, but it works fine.
The last 5,10,20,10,all post function was removed because it was being over used and draining the server at times.
Loren,
Just checked the member map..........found your tree !
Your just crowded in their with:
Eric Jensen.........Keizer
Oregon Rob.........Sherwood
Frank..........u no
Pack Rat........I have never met
Too Bad we can't show these maps by State, as none of you are that close to one another !
Of course the interesting thing about the member's map is ....
"look at all the conifer trees on the East Side in those deciduous forests" :)
Maybe the conifer/deciduous trees are the answer to an inequity I see. ??? ;)
Here's Jeff, coming up on 10,000 posts with 5 conifer trees, and here's me with less than a couple hundred, with 3 already. Maybe when you reach 1000, each conifer should be replaced with a hardwood tree, one for each 1000 posts. It should be a low value hardwood, like yellow poplar, worth more than pine but not a premium species. Then, at 5000 posts, you start replacing the low value with high value, like cherry or walnut. At 10K, you'd have to start importing babinga or something.
Just a thought. :D :D ;)
That's asking a lot from Jeff !
He would have to 'set aside' his regular work to design each species. After awhile he would probably get frustrated and design "log's" and he might place some (not made of wood) on people who make suggestions he does not like . :D :D
Actually, it is not that bad of an idea ;)
Lets see how he responds :o
Steve:
I know my tree is there, I saw it at Franks yesterday.
Jeff:
I got my trees back. I have to turn off my accelerator from my ISP. It cuts out some graphics. I can only use dial-up out here in the boonies where I live.
Apparently the old post function was a desired feature if it was being used so much ;) ;) 8)
It seems that the search engine should at least be able to search the subject line.

Oregon_Sawyer,
I'll say one thing. I like your avatar of the cabin. I thought I say 'of the cabin' cause you might change it sometime and I don't want anyone gettin the wrong idea. :D
Hey Swamp,
The Cabin is one that Loren actually built for his daughters.
Pertty cool.. The inside is filled with wood pieces others might throw away. Yet adds to the rustic finish work.
It is good example of: " Waste not and you shall want not"
It looks exactly like one my uncle and grand father built in the 70's. Only his trim was painted red around the eves, door and windows. It's since fallen down (made of fir logs), but we had alot of good times in the camp. Uncle is a good cook so you can imagine the hamburgers and onion rings that fed the neighborhood kids. It was a good ole place to hang out, and it wasn't far from home. :) :)

It only takes one instance running to kill the server. Now I know who it was...
Swamp Donkey:
The cabin is 12x20 including the porch. It has two rooms. Yes I built it for my daughters instead of tree house. It will probably end up being used as a guest cabin.
The floor is T&G Sequoia Redwood. Walls are framed in Douglas Fir. The siding is Western Red Cedar. The exposed ceiling is Port Orford Cedar. One room is sided inside with T&G WRC random width shorts. The other room I plan to side with pine log siding.
This is one of my projects that never seems to quite get done.

:) I got alot of those......only mine's still on paper. ;)
