Ok , our local forest products marketing board has district meetings from February-March each year, followed by the annual meeting sometime in April.
So Rust Reaper and LogRite folks are my two choices to purchase some door prices. Yup, I said purchase. Then I will be donating the purchases, under my business name, to our organization. Of course these products will be in the hands of folks that will put them to good use. They include truckers, loggers, woodlot owners, saw mill operators and log buyers who support our local marketing board through wood sales and services. I have a fixed budget here, so I will be balancing my purchases dollar-wise. The marketing board usually gets donations from local businesses in the area and they also purchase products for door prizes on a cost shared basis, which include chain saws and thinning saws. Not only that, but the folks who attend the annual meeting tank up with a free dinner before the meeting begins. I will be contacting both merchants in the coming weeks to make my purchases.
Thanks guys :)
SD,
How about getting a couple of FF Hats ? Jeff probably needs to order some more anyways.
Yup, I'll add Jeff to the list for sure. There are a handfull of loggers and producers who use internet in my area. When ever I do a job for a new client I give them info about this forum as well. :)
We at LogRite appreciate your support and thank you immensely.
It makes us feel good that you're helping us.
Pete
Thank you Jeff for the delivery of the Forestry Forum hats awhile back. Also, I just placed my order for a Logrite log peavey, 1 gallon of Rust Reaper Degreaser and 2 RR starter kits. These items will be donated and distributed as door prizes at our annual meeting of delegates. Thank you all for some great products and door prize ideas. I will try to get photos, some of these lot are camera shy. ;)
cheers
You are the MAN! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
The PA Forestry Assn used to have $100 a plate dinners. They were good fund raisers and pretty well attended. They put a limit of 300 people.
They used to get a ton of donations. The first year, the top prize was a Chevy Blazer or $10,000. Kinda tells you how long ago it was. They also had a bunch of art, some logging antiques, hats, and knick knacks.
How they handled their door prizes was to draw numbers. Last number drawn won top prize. It takes a long time, but the suspense is great. They used to award their best prizes to the last 10 numbers, and have several other prizes in between. First number drawn was pretty good too.
They also had several silent auctions. A fun night.
Recieved the LogRite log peavey today, and she's a dan dandy. I also got a little bonus in the package, a brandy new LogRite cap. Thanks folks. :)
I didn't like the UPS man when he told be I owed $41.09 for brokerage fees :o YIKES :o , on top of $16.31 federal tax I knew was due. :'(
But, hey I don't hold that over anyone 'cept UPS >:(
