Title: Grandmothers old china cabinet
Post by: bigred1951 on March 11, 2018, 05:50:09 PM
Ok I'm finally starting to clean my mamaws house out so I can get it torn down. It's been sitting empty for a little over two years. She had a china cabinet older nothing fancy and probably not worth much other then it was hers. I got it out and put in storage today but noticed the drawers won't open. I'm guessing maybe the wood has swelled or warped some from being in the house. How can I fix it. I didn't try to hard to open them I didn't want to break anything.

Just sit it in the sun for a day or two....

If you can get it into a controled atmosphere, turn some fans on it, lift it up on boards, see if you can take the back off.  I redid one after a hurricane flooded my mother in laws house, patience is needed.
