I bought a 045 stihl for 10.00 without a rewind on it replaced that and got it running. Then it died after about 10 cuts. I rebuilt the carb. But it still didnt run.Took the clutch off to get to the crank seal because I couldnt get a vacumn in the case. Thats when I found it. The little pin that is supposed to run the oil pump had come thru from the clutch hub and wiped out the oil seal. There must be a washer or something that is supposed to prevent that. I havent got a book on a 045 av yet so if anyone out there does could you please let me know. Or maybe there is someway to prevent this from happening again. Thank you all. Harold
Ok, I found that there is supposed to be a washer in there. I found all you have to do is type in your saw size on google and BINGO. I hate to admit but I will that my wife showed me. :D
