Title: Neat old saw
Post by: Busysawyer on July 25, 2018, 05:14:42 PM
I came across this saw at a friends.  Says he bought it for 10 bucks at a garage sale. Can anyone tell me about this old saw.

Early 1950's rebadged Clinton chainsaw from Clinton, Michigan.
This Bolens came out of Port Washington, Wisconsin

It has the 3:1 belt reduction drive on the side which I have no experience with. Can't find a pic but further search through Clinton with 3:1 reduction belt drive should show up.

The old Clinton and Power Products engines were widely used in many applications years ago .They were not high RPM engines but produced a lot of low end torque .They were somewhat portable where as something like a Briggs and Stratton was not.
