Title: Heating air to lower RH and EMC
Post by: GeneWengert-WoodDoc on October 17, 2018, 08:02:54 PM
When heating air, it's relative humidity drops.  Here is a table showing the outside air low temperature, and the RH and EMC when heated to 70 F.

Morning's Low (F)   Humidity at 70 F (%)    EMC at 70 F (%)
0.                               5                                   2
20                             14                                  4
40                             34                                  7
60                             67                                 12

Another way to look at this heating effect is to figure out the amount of heat above the morning's low temperature required to achieve 7% EMC.

Morning's.   Heating (F)     Building Temp (F)
Low (F)
0                   21                         21
20                25                         45
40                27                         67
60                28                         88
