Title: Delimbing With Swing skidder
Post by: TimberJoe on March 06, 2019, 10:05:38 AM
Has anyone ever used a skidder combined with a pull through delimber? I have a Swing skidder and was thinking about a danzco (https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/53470/Logging-PT20M.jpg?easyrotate_cache=1551884679)

If the danzco can be buried or otherwise anchored down

Danzco

Wonder if you could 'ground mount' a csi ptd-264 (20 gallons a minute hydraulic flow required for knives)/ 3 knife - ptd 203 or similar on a frame/ towable sledge (similar frame to their saw/ slasher bunks), just need figure out the fuel economy for a power pack hydraulic system etc , remote control power pack engine turn on and shut down, remote control knife down and up?  Knives look more effective on csi?

the danzco i added was a pt20m (mid Mount) it swivels on the top. danzco says there are desighned for swing skidders. There are a few danzcos around my area, Idaho. I cant afford anything more than a danzco at the moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D8uU2gUCVM that one is for a fixed grapple skidder. ive never used a pull through delimber. How well do the work?

When the dngle head went down, the logger I haul for bought an older dansco, that looks to be heavier than that one. We pull them through with a loader, but the previous owner pulled them with his skidder, and it wasn't a swinger.
It has a remote and does a good job, but doesn't measure, which is a pain.
