I have a tree in the yard that only flowers about once a year, for about 3-4 days. Noone has been able to identify the tree.
Your help would be appreciated.

Wow, does it ever flower! No clue but I'm betting it is non-native. Something Asian?

Should have mentioned, the tree is in the Caribbean, but likely non-native there too; was thinking South America but could be way off.

I looked it up in the Sunset Western garden guide after your "clue". Too bad the flowers are poisonous. Neither says its origin.
