Title: Dresser Drawer Guides?
Post by: Simple Jack on March 26, 2019, 06:55:00 PM
I am going to make a a new walnut dresser for my bedroom. The drawers I am going to make out of Cherry and dovetail corners with a walnut face. The dresser will be about 5ft wide, 4ft tall maybe around 21" or 22" deep. I'm thinking of bottom drawer guides so you can see the dovetail a little better and not the guide. I'm not sure if I should go 3 drawers wide, or just 2? I also undecided on the guides? should I go with just a wood dovetail type guide or the newer metal type? What ever I go with I want to last a long, long time. Anyone on here makes dressers? Any advise is welcome?

Built several cabinets/dressers etc.
I use hardwood waxed slides.
Bedroom suite built in 2005-2006
Drawers still work great, havent even renewed the wax.
built many years ago in a former marriage, with the same result.
x is still using them.

Would one guide in the center work fine on a 30" drawer?
