Title: Really Knotty
Post by: Jeff on May 04, 2002, 05:18:08 AM
I do not know what this is, but I am sure its not  a vine, and especially not a grapevine. It's part of some brush that was mixed in some aspen logs. I have a few more longer peices that are pretty twisted too, but smaller diameter. The bark is smooth and the wood seems quite hard.

I do think it will find a place into one of our rustic crafts. Any Ideas?

Jeff:

Virginia Creeper ? There always growing all over trees, even up here. Not native up here, although I found it once out on a woodlot climbing sugar maples. But I knew there was an old farm homestead there one time, long gone. Got one growing up my hydro pole on the lawn, but its very slow growing here.
