Title: Lombardini engine replacement
Post by: Ccwood on June 17, 2019, 10:12:12 AM
I am new to the forum and have a 1998 lt40 HD super. I have purchased woodmizer conversion kit with yanmar 47 hp diesel replacing the Lombardi w 3700hrs. I don't have the auto clutch option and have connected the manual clutch lever. Any input on throttle hookup or video of someone who has done this conversion would b great.

Can't help you with the throttle issue but I will welcome you to the forum. What was wrong with the Lombardi?

It has eaten water for a while which doesn't show up in oil and doesn't seem to make a lot of smoke. However it just started to eat oil and in troubleshooting that the vaccuum regulator valve started spewing oil. I had replaced the timing belt about 100 hours ago which went well but took several specialty tools and quite a bit of down time. The Lombardi I probably just needs a good rebuild but finding a mechanic in this area to work on Lombardi I is far an few between. So it's time for a new heart.

Just curious. There a a few of us on here running the Lombardi. I have the same year mill but mine only has 1270 or so hours on it.

Been a good engine only major problem awhile ago was it had a turbo failure. Upgraded the alternator and few glow plugs pretty routine stuff.
