I have a Timberjack 240 want to service the clutch on Gearmatic 119 it's been difficult getting brake bands out with tight clearance while on the machine. clutch cams rusty. I noticed 4-5 bolts underneath skidplate to remove winch. what's the trick to reaching some of them? Does anyone know how to deal with the drive shaft from transfer case to winch?
I had a gearmatic on a C5 tree farmer had it off a time or two You may have to remove the skid plates to get to them. Not sure on a 240. Use the search feature on this site someone posted a link to online parts and service manuals to your winch very helpful. As A side note I had an Eaton winch off a 225 this winter and someone had welded small lengths of rod to each nut so they didn't need to be held, handy trick.
