Title: Quick Introduction.
Post by: KeithGy on August 09, 2019, 08:39:51 PM
Hey Gang,

Wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. My name is Keith and I'm from GA and recently purchased a Norwood HD36 (with 4 extensions). Lord help me it's manual (no hydraulics) but I hope to add hydraulics as quickly as possible :D

Currently I'm cutting some pine and cedar that I have (approx 200K lbs were dropped at my house from a logger friend). Seems some oversized storm wood needed a home and the local mills weren't interested in 36"x30' lumber.

I've been reading the forum for a couple of months and I grateful to all that post answers and all the photos. I look forward to (hopefully) becoming a friendly addition to the forum.

Sincerely
Keith-

Welcome to the forum.
No matter what you will need a Logrite cant dog or a peavey. Sponsor on the left and nice people. Those big ones are hand to saw. Meaning hard to turn, hard to get through the throat of the mill and so on.But they will yield some lumber.

Welcome to FF. Be sure to update your profile with your specific location in GA. It will come in handy when you post questions and such. You can add your equipment list under you signature line which also helps. Which part of GA are you in anyway?

I'm from Columbus area and a logrite cant pole is on my order list. at this time I'm using my Kubota tractor with grapple to manage the logs. I have 14 cedar and the rest is pine (some small enough to manage and practice). I'm planning on cutting the 32-36" logs into 4' sections and slabbing. They were heavy enough to bog down a timberjack loader. The trucks came in WAY over weight and were unloaded on my land that's how I know approx weight (as opposed to BF).

Seems to be a sudden influx of Keiths from Georgia. I'm Keith from North Georgia and just brought my new mill home. Bought a Timberking 1400.
Hope to see more posts and pictures from your project. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the mill!
