I'm new here and looking for people who have and use Pettibone carry lifts or high lifts.
We have 5 of them and are looking for another one currently. Preferably a later production model super 8 with a diesel motor.
Curious if anyone has one built in the 80's or early 90's. My dealer said they sold their last new Super 8 in the early 90's

I have a Super 8 that was shipped in 1978 according to the factory build sheet. It has the Detroit 3-53 and an Allison trans. It has been a great machine for me, I got it several years ago and don't know how I made it as long as I did without it. I bought it with the front axle disabled, when I tore it apart I found the planetary gears were missing from one hub. If anybody knows of some lying around, I would be interested in making a deal. It is obvious that the squirt boom has replaced these lifts in production use but they are still handy machines.

There is also one in northern MN, carr lake and south of twin cities but likely shows up in twin cities search. An aggregation tool called searchcraigslist.org crawls craigslist but is not perfect but searchs all of the US.
craigslist itself allows you to search within 200 miles of any zip code and by picking 5-8 zipcodes carefully you can pretty quickly scan a big chunk of the USA, just about as much as you want to drive to I think. That said, in Canada there is another site used much more frequently, maybe a Canadian poster could jump in on that.
We had One in the scrape yard many years ago, I think those axles were the same that were used in the army 2.5ton 6*6 trucks. We had super 8 and we also had a super 16. they were great machines.
The carry lift can load a flatbed truck from one side with only 4 ' forks.
We have yards in MN NE and TX. We handle mining tires with them. Www.midwesttiretanks.com shows what we're using them to handle but I'll try to post a few pics. Still getting a handle on this site

I'm going to try and buy several parts machines in the near future I have located. Ill let you know if I get them
