Title: Husqvarna 545 vs 550XP barrel differences
Post by: zimmie10 on March 04, 2020, 05:40:41 PM
Hey everyone.  First of all, Hi - I'm new here!
Right, down to business.  We have a client who has brought his saw (Husqvarna 545) with him from overseas.  It needs a new barrel assembly, but Husqvarna NZ have never brought that model in so don't carry the spares for it.
My question is, can I fit a barrel & piston assembly off a 550XP to it?
As I understand, the 550XP has Revboost, crank stuffers and different transfer ports, but both saws have the same cc, bore and stroke.
Husqvarna NZ can't tell me if they are compabitle so I thought there would be some knowledgeable people here that have a bit of experience with both machines.
Thanks!

I think the only difference is the crank stuffers and RevBoost.  I'm not sure of the transfer ports, having never read anything about them.

I had a 2252 Jonsered, same as a 545, with a 550 cylinder on it.  It was a direct bolt on.
