Title: uh oh

Three buzzards landed in my back yard.  Should I be concerned?

Missing any pets or relatives?   :D

Is it unusual for you to see buzzards around there?  There may be a dead rodent or snake or something they're interested in.  It's also getting into mating season and they just might be hanging out on the ground a bit.

I have a good crop of resident buzzards and sometimes they just hang out.  Sometimes they are working on a dead something.  All good either way.  Unless it's a relative or something.   :D

I boiled a corned beef, stripped fat and such and threw it in the back yard, buzzards appeared in about 10 minutes.  Good smellers, I guess.

Yep.  They shop for their groceries by sight and by smell.  Their life depends on it!

Buzzards are like being down range, don't worry about the ones you see or hear....

I have had them come visit when I threw deer organs and bones to Sampson and he did not eat them fast enough. I used to throw my fish heads and guts into a deep hole in the creek below my yard to feed the crawfish and chubs there but now I typically take them up into the woods for the coyotes and foxes and to keep the buzzards and crows away. Our public boat landing typically has dozens hanging around eating dead carp and such people throw out there.

I saw my first Buzzard of the year yesterday, picking at a roadkill deer!

Chuck you really should be paying attention to other cars when picking at roadkill.  :D

Not many cars on the road at any given time in this area now!
