Title: Older lt40 belt change
Post by: CCCLLC on May 15, 2020, 07:33:38 AM
Time for a new drive power belt (bx74) for the 1990 mill. My mill has never had or has long lost a piece that keeps belt off the motor sheave when in idle. Can anyone enlighten me on this part? Seems important cause I can smell hot rubber occasionally in idle. Can I order this part and retrofit my old Onan 24? Thanks.

My mill used to have a 24hp Onan, and I looked up my equip. at Wood-Mizer!

Not a good pic of the back of the engine, but I could see the part I believe you're looking for!

The part number I got off of the look-up page was:  A12237, Bracket Wldmt, belt support!

Hope this helps you out!

you're welcome!

IIRC, the rod that is positioned under the belt and is supposed to be 1/8" under the tensioned belt!
