Title: Oil line replacement on McCullough MS 2046 - Help
Post by: MikeE on September 23, 2020, 08:35:21 PM
QuoteI am replacing the oil line on my McCullough MS 2046 chainsaw. Since the previous hose was gone, I am unsure of were to connect the end coming out of the oil tank underneath the saw. The only possibility I see is a piece that switches back and forth.

QuoteCan someone either explain to me if this is the correct connection area or send me a picture? If it is the correct connection, what do the two positions mean?

QuoteThanks

Don't know the 2046 but in general on homeowner saws....The oil line from the tank connects to a rubber block w/ oil pump piston spinning inside it. Oil is forced out the block to a trough (or sometimes a hose) to land above the bar studs. You may have an inner bar plate to make the trough an enclosed channel.
