Never run into pitch build up on rails. Realized it was building a little late. I'm gonna clean it with diesel but does anyone have a tip as to how you avoid this problem?
Thanks in advance for any response!!
I wire brush the rail wiper felt clean and then thoroughly saturate it with ATF each morning just before I begin sawing. I also insure that the teflon/plastic wipers are in contact with the rail.
I've got a trigger squirt bottle filled with ATF and as I walk down the mill first thing in the morning looking for issues, I spritz the rails, the chain, the log clamp cylinders, and mast.
