I ran the processor as a slab saw with out the tray for some time. Finally got the tray in place - seems to work pretty good.
Check the video below.

Firewood Processor Converted To Slab Saw - YouTube (https://youtu.be/OJptnTlOCkA)
It looks a bit iffy to me, might get hit by cut offs.
Hi Jerry:
It does on occasion send some wood flying (both as a processor and a slab saw). The enclosure window was made out of 1/2" bullet proof plastic and the sheet steel is 10 Gauge.

Nice work. 13hp saw motor? Does it run the hydraulics too?
Hi Mike:
Thanks
It was a 15 hp when I started out - that ran the saw and the hydraulics. I upgraded it to a 20 hp Honda twin (and decreased the main cylinder size from 5" to 4") and found the speed to be significantly improved. I have some other videos on my utube channel that show the new motor in action. Although I need to make a new one that gives the thing some proper justice on a good run. It seems every time I get the camera out I have all kinds of trouble!
If you check this video in the middle somewhere you can see the speed improvement
Homemade wood processor has a bad day. A 6" piece solid metal snapped like a twig! (6:30 minutes) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LleSPY7bVg)

jmur1 Looks like the 20 HP Honda made a big difference in speed of the processor. Watch that slab wood I have a buddy that cuts a lot of it on a buzz saw and it likes to fly out sometimes. You have a nice protector with that bullet proof plastic.
Hi Hedgerow: :D I think I still have a bump on my leg where a small log flew out at me. (before the enclosure)
I do feel a bit safer these days. It also pays to keep the blade sharp.
Thanks for watching!

A peg tooth or type M saw will work better than a saw with hooked teeth. The problem here is that it cannot be carbide as far as I know. The saw I am talking about can be mounted either way as the teeth are straight.
Hi moodnacreek:
That would be an interesting sawblade!
