Hey guys I been cutting tendons mostly with kerfing a hammer then clean with slick to line. I also just ordered a skillsaw super Sasquatch. Rolling wet green oak 6 by 8 getting old. Wondering if anyone ever tried drop cutting with the big skill or maquita?
Cutting tenons = good. Cutting tendons(in your body) =bad
I'm not a fan of kerfing to remove waste. I'd rather cut the shoulder with circ saw, cut the cheek with circ saw, and if you have to finish it with hand saw, do that. Of course I prefer to score my lines before hand to reduce chance of blowout. You want to cut with the circ saw as close as possible, but not go over your line. You don't want to do a bunch of hand work to get down to your line, especially in hardwood. But you don't want to over cut it either.
