Some parts have made to the shop.
Laying everything out to match this gen head to the engine.
Engine is 1944, gen head is from the 1950's.
More to come as it goes together.
Looks like an Onan gen. Head? 1800 rpm?
How big is the diesel?

I built one 15 or so yrs. Ago. I had a 5 hp. Kubota diesel spinning a 60 amp alternator. I used it to charge my home battery bank (off grid). I used the light switch from an older truck to control the field- on/off and the built in rheostat controlled the output. I used it to death (the alternator burned out). It lasted 10 years or so, was very efficient at charging the batts.
Good thing my wifes yaris will become a generator and air conditioner, cogen heating etc. Cant even hear the thing and it sips fuel.
