Title: cedar n fir V growing together.
Post by: 20ozjolt on March 14, 2021, 02:23:43 PM
I have this tree growing in my driveway, never thought much about it tell an arborist said "I've never seen that before"

so my main question is should i be concerned about one killing or causing the other to fall they are both in reach of a barn.

Across the road from where I grew up there was a EWP and an ash sharing the same spot.

Concern I would have is windthrow. Barring that, you probably won't be above ground when they die naturally. ;D

If the cedar is Port Orford you might have concerns about disease getting hold of it.  If its red cedar no worries.  Not much will bother the Doug-fir.  Just realize as they get bigger it will get more difficult to take them down.
