Title: Just got a 74 Timberjack 240D
Post by: Rooney43 on March 28, 2021, 04:25:28 PM
Got it from a guy that bought it new.  He says the oil pan is leaking on the 453 DD.  It's parked on my land now but it's far from my house.  I haven't had a chance to really look at it.  Do I have to raise the engine to put a new pan gasket?

Take your tool box with you and tighten up all the nuts and bolts all the way around the engine. DD are known for weeping/leaking. My 4-53 has 600 hrs since rebuild and it's already weeping in places >:( :o :(.
