Hello all.
I just got my woodland mills HM126 and so far have only tested it out on a few small logs. Last time I fired it up, as soon as I hit the throttle, the blade jumped off. I noticed a few teeth were gone, and looks like it dug into the blade guard when it happened.
My problem is that when I went to replace the blade, it's impossible to get t on the wheels. I've loosened the T bar as much as it will go and pushed it in. There's still not enough play to get it the new blade back on the wheels. I've combed thru the manual trying to figure out what other possible adjustments could be causing the issue. Is there a way to get the follower wheel to move over more to be able to get the new blade on?
Is your new band the same length as your old band?
Yeah, I tried both the old blade and the new blade... both from WM.
Seems that when I loosen the tension, I can push the handle which moves the follower wheel a bit, which is helpful. But it's not enough to get the blade on still.
What type of tensioner?
Have you tried manually pushing the wheel towards the center?
I looked at the manufacturer website, it says tool less blade change, and that the tension is accomplished by using Bellville washers. {I'm pretty sure that those are cone shaped}.
Do you know how to relieve the tension?

Are you sure one of yours wheels is not cocked around? In other words it slides back but the wheel also need pushed against its adjustment stop.
I ran into as well. Just keep turning t handle counter clockwise a few more turns and it will expose the threads....then just push t handle in towards the motor. Should go right on then
I have had to take a big C clamp and push my MP32 in to get a new blade on. Had mine 16 years and it had gotten a little stiff.
I use the handle of the 12" crescent type wrench as a lever between the wheel and housing/shield to get the idler wheel over enough to install the new .045 thick blades on. You may have to use some leverage/ pry stick to move the wheel far enough
I had the same issue once. The tensioner gets stuck. Unthread the handle some more and give it a few shakes to loosen. It should then be able to push in further.
