(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/57107/image.jpg?easyrotate_cache=1634403814)iI got a Valmet 546h with a Cranab 998 slide boom. The hoses and chain keeps getting slack in them and the hoses walk off the wheel once in a while and get pinched. When I tighten the slack in the hoses it's usually good for a couple months then gets slack in them again. Any ideas wht could cause this?
Yes, but there is no cure.
Here are a few reasons and advice.
1. Hoses stretch.
2. When hoses stretch keep adjusting the tension.
3. Make sure the hoses are in their proper slots in the wheel.
4. When hoses get damaged and kinky, replace them.
5. Make sure the sag is the same for all hoses.
I had taken a link out of the chain about a couple months ago and tightened it up and even the chain has slack in it again.
